PUBG and Krafton have announced a new game in the PUBG franchise called PUBG: New State. The excitement levels are very high, given how incredibly successful the original PUBG: Mobile was. In this article, we’ll disclose PUBG Mobile’s new update release date as well as highlight the story and new features.
Although the game’s maker announced its name, they didn’t disclose a lot about it. However, as it recently had its Alpha testing phase in June, we’ve uncovered some of the highlights of the new game.
Much like its predecessor, PUBG: New State is also going to be exclusively a mobile game. There’s no PC or console version on the horizon so far.
Now that we know a bit more about it, let’s dig in.
PUBG: New State Story
If you love futuristic games, you’re in for a treat. The story in PUBG: New State is set in the year 2051. It’s still a battle royale game like PUBG: Mobile, but you’ll have a brand new map to traverse and explore.
Of course, since the story is set in the future, you can expect some futuristic technology within the game. In essence, it’s a post-apocalyptic setting where you’ve been left to your own devices. This could be very interesting, given the fact that experts are predicting an irreversible collapse in the near future at the hands of climate change.
Some of the story elements are more inspired by Call of Duty (COD) than they are by its predecessor. The drones and ballistic shields, in particular, will give you a very COD vibe.
When announcing the game, Krafton mentioned interactive objects. It’s not clear exactly what they are and how they’ll be used within the game, but one thing is clear that the story and gameplay will be a lot more immersive.
Gameplay
So the gameplay is pretty much clear from the story. As far as gameplay style goes, there aren’t any major changes. However, the game is introducing several new features that will take it to the next level.
Here’s what you need to know:
New Map ‘Troi’
This PUBG update will introduce a new map called Troi, which will change things quite a bit. It goes without saying that the game would not have been so distinct had it stuck with the old maps. However, that’s not the case, so you can get excited about discovering Troi.
It’s a 64 sq. kilometer map, so it’s quite big. So far, we’ve seen gameplay on some of the highlighting places on the map, such as The Mall, Trailer Park, and Laboratory. From the looks of it, the places seem exciting.
Combat Rolls
Starting with PUBG: New State, the PUBG franchise will finally introduce combat rolls. Needless to say, this new feature will make the game a bit more speedy.
Let’s be honest, the foot action on PUBG: Mobile was a little slow. Whether it was good or bad is another discussion. However, with combat rolls, you can expect the game to be comparatively faster and more adrenaline-packed.
Custom Weapons
Remember Call of Duty: Mobile’s Gunsmith mode? Well, PUBG: New State will have something similar that will take weapon customization to the next level and give you complete control. Yes, there was weapon customization available to some extent on PUBG: Mobile, but not as much as some players would have liked.
From the trailer, we can tell that a grenade launcher is being added. Then, you can also make fire mode selections. That all said, most weapons are the same as that on PUBG: Mobile.
Vehicles
Since we’re in the future in PUBG: New State, the vehicles are going to be futuristic. Of course, that means silent, fast, and eco-friendly electric cars. The most exciting thing about these cars is that the colors are quite vibrant.
For those who like a noisy vehicle, they can get on a motorbike. The addition of a tram is surely going to make gameplay more interesting (and going around more accessible).
The trailer also shows what looks like a hybrid of a drone and helicopter. These helicopters with twin fans surely look like something we could have for real by 2051.
PUBG: New State Graphics
The screenshots we’ve seen so far, as well as the trailer, speak volumes about the advancement in graphics. That’s not to say PUBG: Mobile lacked anything in terms of graphics. However, Krafton seems bent on knocking graphics on this game out of the park.
The technical details are not out yet and probably won’t be clear until PUBG Mobile new update release date. There could potentially be collaborations with partners and their devices that readily support the ultra high-definition graphics of this new game.
They are using Global Illumination for even better rendering. You’ll only understand how intense that is when you get your hands on the game.
PUBG: New State Release Date
You’re probably dying to know PUBG Mobile’s new update release date. Well, the company hasn’t announced a final release date as of yet. However, it’s highly likely that the game would come out later this year only.
Pre-registration has opened for Android, which has passed a whopping 20 million already. For iOS, pre-registration will begin in August 2021.
Therefore, right now, your best bet is to pre-register for the mobile app, so you can start playing it as soon as it is released.
The fact that pre-registration is open, alpha testing is complete, and trailer and screenshots are out means that the game has an imminent launch set. You never know they might just surprise drop the game one day without even announcing it days ahead.
You should expect to be able to play it on your Android or Apple device probably in the fall of this year.
Final Words
While the PUBG Mobile new update release date is still unknown, anticipation is very high. You can look around the internet for glimpses into the gameplay.
Overall, there are a number of positive additions and some that perhaps won’t matter so much. All in all, the game is likely going to shatter records that PUBG: Mobile set in the first place.
