Galaxy F22 is Samsung’s New Affordable F-series Smartphone

The Take On TechThe Take On Tech—July 19, 20210
FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedInTumblrRedditVKWhatsAppEmail

Budget-friendly smartphones with decent specs and features have always been on millennials’ wish lists. Samsung has thankfully taken the needs of millennials into account with the launch of its Galaxy F22.

The first version of the mobile offers 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, whereas the second variant packs 6GB RAM with 128 GB storage.

Given the price difference, the Samsung 6GB RAM mobile appears to be a better option. Nevertheless, there is more to explore before we come to a conclusion.

While previously Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10 managed to offer superb specs at an affordable price, will Samsung Galaxy F22 take it a step up? Let’s see what Samsung’s new release has in store and if it’s worth it.

What’s in the Box?

Unboxing a new gadget is perhaps the most exciting thing to do. The Galaxy F22 comes in a decent white box with specifications printed on the back like all other Samsung phones. Inside the box, you’ll find:

  • Handset
  • Sim Ejector Pin
  • Adaptor (15W)
  • Charging Cable
  • User Manual

Upon sliding your fingers on the phone, you will feel its matte finish. Bonus point, the matte exterior doesn’t let any messy fingerprints get to it. You can choose either the Denim black or Denim blue color, as you prefer.

Galaxy F22 Specifications

The Galaxy F22 was officially unveiled on the 13th of July, in India. Just after its launch, all eyes were on it due to its low price and brilliant specs.

Let’s take a look at its specifications.

Display

With a 6.4″ HD+ Super AMOLED infinity-U screen, this smartphone is a delight for the social-savvy young generation.

Moreover, since users often tend to handle their gadgets carelessly, the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, making it more resistant to breaks and scratches.

Plus, if you’re out in the sun, you can get a clear view of your phone’s screen because the highest brightness mode is 600 nits.

Furthermore, it offers a smooth and cinematic display, so users can glide past social media or stream their favorite TV shows on their phones anywhere around with ease.

Camera

With a 48MP Quad Camera, you can capture memorable moments whenever you like. The rear camera has a GM2 sensor and ISOCELL Plus Technology to capture crisp, clear photos.

Furthermore, the 2MP lens can capture detailed shots better, while the 8MP wide-angle lens adds more visual interest. Also, with the 2MP camera, you can take stunning portrait pictures through live focus.

Here’s the good news for selfie freaks: the 13MP front camera captures incredible bright shots with stunning clarity.

Additionally, you can set the camera mode based on your preferences. The Samsung 6GB RAM mobile offers Slow motion, Hyperlapse, Pro Mode, Feast Mode, and AR zone so you can express yourself creatively.

Processor

The processor is perhaps the most critical feature for gadget freaks since a slow processor can be a pain in the neck! Samsung, nevertheless, claims to offer a “Blockbuster Software” in Galaxy F22.

It features the MediaTek Helio G80 processor and Android 11 OS. Also, the 3.1 user interface allows you to experience enhanced customization. For instance, you can better control the features and switch between programs without hassle.

Memory Variants

As mentioned earlier, the phone comes in two versions, offering different features at varying prices. Let’s break it down:

Samsung 4GB RAM Mobile

The first version is the Samsung 4GB RAM mobile with 64 GB memory, priced at $167. It comes with a Li-Po 6000 mAh, non-removable battery.

Also, it supports 15W charging.

Samsung 6GB RAM Mobile

The second version is the Samsung 6GB RAM mobile with 128 GB memory priced at $194, pretty affordable, right? This model also has Li-po 600 mAh, a non-removable battery similar to the first version. Moreover, it too supports fast charging.

Other Features

The phone comes with some pre-installed applications and games from Samsung. You’ll also find a few third-party apps like MX TakaTak and Moj. Also, the usual Microsoft apps including Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Office, and LinkedIn.

Below are a few other features that you might want to look into.

Dimensions

The phone comes with 74mm width, 160mm height, and 9.4mm depth which fits just right into your hand. Also, the 203 g weight makes it quite handy to carry around without trouble.

Multimedia

Galaxy F22 comes with an FM Radio app and also allows you to record your preferred Station (in case you miss your favorite show)

The phone comes with a headphone jack right at the bottom. Additionally, the loudspeaker provides impressive sound quality for you to enjoy music on the go.

Bluetooth

Samsung’s F22 supports Bluetooth connectivity so that you can share photos, videos, and documents with anyone.

It comes with a Bluetooth version v5.0.

Pre-installed Browser

The phone comes with pre-installed web browsers, including Chrome and Samsung S-Browser. However, you can install any search engine based on your preferences.

Connectivity

Galaxy F22 supports internet connectivity (4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS, and EDGE). The supported networks include 4G LTE, WCDMA, and GSM.

Warranty

The company offers a year of warranty from the date of purchase. In case you run into any unexpected issue within that time, you can visit your nearest Samsung store and get the issue resolved.

The New Galaxy F22: Is It Worth It?

Let’s uncover a few pros and cons to see if the handset is worth the hype.

Pros

  • Slim and sleek design
  • High-quality plastic exterior
  • Side finger scanner offers a quick response
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Reduced blue light
  • Oled screen display features high contrast, bright colors, and fast motions (pleasant for prolonged use)
  • High-resolution photos

Cons

  • You can’t delete the Samsung apps, which poses privacy concerns
  • Charging may take a little longer despite the fast charger

So far, so good. The cost-effective handset has more to offer in terms of features. Drawbacks are perhaps typical to any new handset. We cannot expect to get 100% from our gadgets.

Final word

Samsung never fails to amaze its customers with its affordable products that offer exceptional quality and features. As with the new Samsung 6GB RAM smartphone, the company has delivered the same value.
